What is TelerainMD?
TelerainMD provides you access to a doctor from your home, office, or on the go- 24/7/365. Our Board Certified doctors can visit with you either by phone or secure video to help treat any non-emergency medical conditions. Our doctors can diagnose your symptoms, prescribe medication, and send prescriptions to your pharmacy of choice.
What does the telehealth consult with your doctors cost?
After enrolling and paying your subscription either monthly or yearly, your telehealth consults cost you nothing! The cost for your subscription is only$19.95 per month for individuals or $29.95 for our family plan. You also choose to pay by the year for a discount. See our prices section of our website for more details.
Is Telehealth service appropriate for every medical condition?
No it isn’t. Telehealth is designed only to handle non-emergency medical issues. You should not use telehealth service if you are experiencing a medical emergency. In case of a medical life threatening emergency, you should dial 911 immediately. While telehealth is not intended to replace your primary care doctor for common or chronic conditions, a virtual doctor’s appointment can sometimes substitute a doctor’s office, urgent care, or an emergency room visit and expense.
What are the most common conditions you treat?
Our doctors are trained to treat a wide range of conditions. Some of the most common are: Acne, Allergies, Asthma, Bronchitis, Cold & Flu, Constipation, Diarrhea, Ear Infection, Fever, Headache, Insect Bites, Joint Aches, Nausea, Rashes, Sinus Infections, Sore Throat, UTI and more! See our website for more examples.

How do I know your doctors will take my insurance?
There is no need to worry about this. All your consults are included free with your subscription. There is no per call charge, deductible or copayment to pay, so therefore our doctors do not require any insurance information from you.

Our network of Board Certified doctors will be provided to you based on the state you are located. We make sure that each doctor is fully licensed to practice medicine in your state. You can use your telehealth services when traveling outside the US but keep in mind that when calling from outside the US, doctors will only provide advice for treatment and cannot prescribe medications, only tell you what they would prescribe. To use our telehealth doctors, the subscriber must be US resident and provide a US address in their profile.
Can I call your tele health doctors from outside of the United States?
Yes, for medical advice only and no prescription can be given when outside of the U.S.

Yes, they can have a consult but the doctor while traveling, but the doctor can only provide advice for treatment when patients are calling from outside of the US. No prescriptions can be written in such case. The Doctor will advise the patient on the medication they would normally prescribe. In this case, technically we are only providing advice the Doctor’s state licenses are not taken into consideration.
Who are the doctors?
Our provider network is comprised of over 200 physicians Board Certified in Internal Medicine, Family Practice, Emergency Medicine and Pediatrics. An average of 15 years of practice experience is required of all our physicians. All our physicians are State-licensed to practice in your state, US Board Certified, and credentialed using NCQA and URAC guidelines. We adhere to the strictest standards with background checks and primary source verification through the National Physician Data Base (NPDB) and the American Medical Association (AMA) for medical licensure, training and education, work history and malpractice history.
Can I request a particular doctor?
You cannot request a particular doctor. Our telehealth service is designed to support your relationship with your existing doctor. It is not a means of establishing an exclusive relationship with one of our doctors. Please know that all our telehealth doctors are highly qualified and go through rigorous training and credentialing. Our Network provider, CallMD’s doctors and nurses are all state board certified and licensed to practice your state.
Is this health insurance?

The child can be related, adopted or under legal guardianship. Your subscription does not cover children not meeting the age and/or financial dependency requirements, nor does it include the primary’s parents, uncles, aunts, cousins or any others living in the primary’s home. If they wish to consult with doctors, they will have to obtain and pay for their own accounts.
Can a minor register themselves?
Technically yes, however they would need the primary member’s identification criteria (i.e. DOB, Member ID, etc.) in order to register.
Can a parent register a child regardless of the age, including adult children?
Yes, if the dependent is 18+ they will be given the option of blocking the primary from seeing their medical record / profile.
What is the protocol for medical consults for children under the age of 2?
A child under 2 can have a consult with a pediatrician, however if the child has a fever they will most likely be referred to their pediatrician to ensure they are physically seen.
How many dependents can be added via the website/app/phone?
Up to 5 dependents can be manually added.
Is your telehealth service available in all states?
We do not currently offer service in Idaho and in the state of Arkansas, current legislation does not permit our doctors to prescribe medication over the phone/video. Doctors will generally inform you of this and why but, if you can, always ask them if there is any such requirement. How are prescriptions provided to me?
The physician would send an e-script to the pharmacy you have requested. *Please note that some pharmacies, specifically those in rural areas are not familiar with telemedicine and may question a prescription written by a physician located in another state. The pharmacies have the ability to look up a doctor’s state license. However, very small, non-chain pharmacies may question the prescription. Please advise customer service if you encounter any issues as we continue to strive to “spread the word” on this new emerging industry.
If I am suffering from a cold or flu, will the Telehealth doctor prescribe medication?
The physician will need to ascertain if the condition is bacterial or viral. If the doctor does not think it is bacterial they may recommend over the counter medication.
